Or par for the course. I want a Ponam, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! because its literally the Land Cruiser of the Water*, or...well...Water Cruiser. Now I don’t know what “Ponam” translates to but after seeing some of the features on the Larger Ponam 35, I wonder if it has anything to do with tentacles.
Look Japan, you can do whatever you want out at sea, I don’t want to know about it.
*The smaller 31 features a pair of 3.0 diesel’s from the Prado, the larger one features a pair of 4.5 liter V8 diesel’s from the 79 and 200 series.

See, if it just said SPNKr, I’d assume that was the button to activate the rocket launcher.

What is a virtual anchor? Like, the boat just pretends that it can’t go anywhere?

Cool tech here. I’d forgotten Yota had a marine division. Virtual spanker (sail) keeps the bow into the wind. Virtual anchor holds you in one spot against wind/current.

Holds the boat on a defined GPS fix with thrusters and props.

I knew there had to be a legit Nautical term for spanker

Huh. Neat.
If it’s anything like my GPS, though, holding it still would mean spinning it in circles and occasionally shooting to the side.

From the description I found it uses the main engines only.

You can imagine the hits I got when googling virtual spanker. Fetish sites, ftw!

.....and thats why I didn’t do it at work.

That’s probably Akio Toyoda’s boat, his ‘code name’ as a race driver is Morizo.
Brings back memories of when Toyota tried to be in the boat business in the US with the Lexus 4.0L V8. Too bad we couldn’t find a good hull maker. Twin V8 diesel! Yes please.
In all my trips to Japan I’ve only ever seen a handful of cars towing boats. To be fair, I’m not near the coast but I would think there would be a few around if it was a real thing there. Mostly ocean-going boats there too I’d guess, not a lot of small fresh-water lakes around.

Thats rad, Thanks! These boats are outrageously expensive, but they are so cool in my opinion. Neat to think that its his personal boat.

Oh I remember the Epic line, and the marinized 1UZ, it wasn’t a well loved boat in its time, but it has a cult following now. Shame about the hull though, its all people seem to remember about it.
